DANIEL J Denis

President

Joining RunBrook in 2021, Daniel J. Denis uses his 20-plus years of uniquely diverse design and construction experience to help clients reach their sustainability goals effectively and efficiently. With an education in construction management and professional stops on the design consultant, contracting, and third party inspection sides of the building design & construction process, Daniel’s complimentary educational and professional experiences allow him to most effectively collaborate and communicate with all members of the design and construction team.

Daniel began working on green building projects as early as 2012. While working as an energy modeler for one of Miami’s leading mechanical engineering firms. He soon found a passion for sustainability in the built environment and earned the LEED Accredited Professional (AP) designation. By 2013 he was the firm’s Green Building Project Manager - leading a team of designers through the LEED submission process while also honing his own skills as an energy modeler on a wide range of projects.

In 2015, Daniel joined a firm focused solely on green building consulting. Serving there as Energy Engineer & Consultant, Daniel was an integral part in certifying a wide array of projects across various green building rating systems including Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED), Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), and National Green Building Standard (NGBS), and ENERGY STAR.

Daniel holds various professional credentials including: LEED AP with Building Design & Construction Specialty (BD+C), LEED Green Rater, FGBC Certifying Agent, NGBS Verifier, RESNET HERS Rater, and ENERGY STAR Verifier.


MATT ZIRkELBACH

Co-Founder

Matt Zirkelbach is a veteran of the sustainable-buildings industry, with over two decades of experience helping his clients derive more value per square foot for every project. Zirkelbach’s extensive expertise and knowledge are unsurpassed, and he holds numerous high-level certifications for sustainable-building practices, including LEED AP for Homes, LEED for Homes Green Rater, FL Green Building Collation Certifying Agent, National Green Building Coalition Verification Agent, Class 1 HERS Rater and FL Green Building Coalition High-Rise Residential Rater. He’s also a member of the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the National Green Building Standard (NGBS).

As Co-Founder of RunBrook , Zirkelbach’s vision of providing an innovative and streamlined approach that improves building sustainability and the bottom line has resulted in greater environmental performance and more profits for his clients’ projects. He’s an expert in all areas of sustainable building with a focus on site-plan approval support, green building value engineering, energy modeling and utility forecasts, energy audits for existing buildings, green building and sustainability certifications (LEED, NGBS, Green Globes, ENERGY STAR), all relevant tax incentives (179D and 45L tax deductions), blower-door tests and duct-leakage tests, among other areas.

Due to his decades of industry experience and considerable know-how, Zirkelbach was able to devise a unique, innovative and streamlined approach for his clients that focuses on green building education, design-team collaboration, value engineering, energy modeling and green building construction management. His forward-thinking methodology has maximized value for his clients and boosted their profits, and under his leadership, RunBrook has certified thousands of sustainable-building projects through LEED, NGBS and other rating systems.

Prior to co-founding RunBrook, Zirkelbach worked for several top green building companies with the goal of increasing sustainability and the bottom line. Zirkelbach holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Stetson University and a Master of Arts in Environmental Science from Florida International University.

Co-Founder, COO and General Counsel

Gaida Zirkelbach is a veteran of the legal, technology, green building and sustainability industries with over two decades of experience going above and beyond client expectations. As the COO and General Counsel of RunBrook, she spearheads all legal, contracting and operations functions, and utilizes her MBA, law degree and management skills to ensure client projects stay on schedule and within budget. In recognition of her impressive industry leadership, high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, she’s received several prominent honors, including being named a Super Lawyer, a member of Florida Trend’s Legal Elite and a South Florida Legal Guide professional.

Zirkelbach has served in a general-counsel role for a South Florida Inc. 500 company and was a shareholder at a large law firm for over a decade. At the law firm she provided crucial strategic advice, served multiple top-level clients and managed high-profile transactions and a broad team of lawyers and staff. She’s also been quoted and featured on television and televised online courses, as well as in such top publications as the National Law Journal, E-Commerce Times, Florida Trend magazine, the South Florida Business Journal and the Miami Herald.

Zirkelbach holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Business and Information Technology, an MBA and a Juris Doctorate, all from Stetson University.
