Here is one of our Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) Designated Professionals for the High Rise Residential Rating System. She is on site at one of our projects. Learn more about the FGBC, RunBrook's role in the project, and the benefits of certification.

What is the FGBC?

The FGBC is a nonprofit Florida corporation dedicated to improving the built environment. It's mission is "to provide a statewide green building program that defines, promotes, and encourages sustainable efforts with environmental and economic benefits." FGBC was conceived and founded in the belief that green building programs will be most successful if there are clear and meaningful principles on which "green" qualification and marketing are based. You can learn more about the FGBC and RunBrook's role in helping our clients here.

How is RunBrook helping this multifamily project?

This customer engaged RunBrook to help it determine which rating system would work best for this particular project, based on the customer's goals. Our team provided the customer with information regarding the Florida Green Building Coalition rating, as well as other rating systems, such as LEED or NGBS. For this particular project, based on RunBrook's and the customer's analysis, FGBC was the right approach.

RunBrook is now helping the customer as an FGBC Certifying Agent. Our goal at this stage is to streamline the process of obtaining a Green Home Designation Certificate. This means that our specialists guide the project's designers and builders through the process of qualifying and documenting these multi-family buildings through the rating system. When needed, our team will also work with the customer to compile and organize submittals required by the FGBC, as well as suggest non-required submittals that would be helpful for a smooth rating system application process. RunBrook will send these submittals with the customer's application.
